1) Title: Charlotte's WebAuthor: E.B. White
2) Plot:
The Main theme of Charlotte's Web is Friends. This book is about how a girl, Fern saved and love a spring pig, Wilbur. But a grey spider, Charlotte love Wilbur more as a friend more than Fern. When Mr Zuckerman wanted to kill Wilbur for he is old and fat enough to be eaten, Wilbur is saved from a dreadful fate by Charlotte's smart plan.
3) What you have learnt or notice from the writter of the book about characterisations?
a)Main characters: Wilbur, Charlotte
b) Personality:
Wilbur: dependent on Charlotte, pessmistic
Charlotte: optimistic, loyal, smart, independent
c) How did the personalities played out in the story to make the story more alive and interesting? Give examples quoted from the books.
The frienship between Charlotte and Wilbur is just two words, loyal and faithful. When Wilbur is faceing death. Charlotte will try to help him if it means sacrificing her life. She died not long after she wrote this, Some Pig, Terrific and Radiant. I really admire Charlotte for her determination in spinnig those words on her web. Even when she was about to lay eggs and over exhaustion that caused her death.
d) What did you learn from this author about building interesting characters?
I learnt that building interesting character will make the story better. Some characters in Charlotte's Web help to buld suspense in the story. Others helped to give me more infomation about the story.
4) Style of writing:
a) The author uses descripctive words , phrases and sentences
-The straw fluttered down like confetti on Fern's hair.
- twirling
- bottle full with happiness
b) The author uses humourous dialogues.
- " Like you will be as fat as Wilbur!" Gander said with a laughter.
